About Working with the Nigro Firm

When we asked him what it was like the to work with the Nigro Firm to create Blueprint Blueper construction cartoons he said, that they have "been pretty open to what I bring to the table without imposing too strict of guidelines upon the images I've created. They seem to have faith that I'll create something that fulfills its purpose, is unique, eye catching, and hopefully memorable too. I admit I have had to tone down some of my initial ideas to make them more presentable to the general public, but the finished product is still usually pretty fun to come up with. One thing I find interesting in creating images is how people react to them, so it's nice to work directly with a team of people that are responsive to what I'm making. "

His Other Work

When not creating cartoons for us, he is building up his portfolio with original work of a much more serious nature than our cartoons. His personal work often deals with psychological reactions, such as ambivalence, lust, fear, pride or skepticism to social situations.

Often the images upon initial inspection appear to be fun, amusing or care free, but upon a second, deeper look more complex ideas become more apparent.

When asked about the symbolism and messages in his work he says that, " I don't understand an image's symbolism entirely until a few months after its completion, as I reflect upon the work itself and consider what I'd been experiencing at the time of its creation. Hearing others' interpretations of my work also brings me closer to realizing the true purpose of the visuals' creation."

In terms of his relationship with his viewers or how they view his work he says that, "what I find most rewarding by creating art is when a viewer - whom I have no association with prior to them seeing my work - feels the insight I'd been intending to document and can vocalize how that occurred through the visual elements. Whether it be via bizarre imagery or intense colors, so long as the viewer ends up within the vicinity of the interpretation I'd set forth for them to discover, I am satisfied."
